On the morning of her grandfather’s anniversary, Fanny finds him dead in his bed. The “jolly good fellow” has taken his life with an antiepileptic drug that Fanny had stolen from the family-run mercy farm for his old pug. In order to maintain the family’s spotless image by covering up the patriarch’s suicide, the clan is now forced to stage an absurd charade in front of the guests.
