DER LETZTE BÄR (AT)

In 1834, a large bounty is placed on the last German bear. For Heinrich, a politically persecuted man, the hunt offers hope of finally escaping the existential misery of his homeland and starting a new life in America with his secret love Minna, his brother Gustav‘s wife. But the hunt for the last Bear turns out to be a fiasco for all the soldiers of fortune who stalk the mysterious phantom in the gloomy German forest.

THE LAST BEAR (WT) is Peter Meister’s second collaboration with Producer Manuel Bickenbach and Frisbeefilms after his debut feature THE BLACK SQUARE (DAS SCHWARZE QUADRAT) from 2021.
