On the morning of her grandfather’s anniversary, Fanny finds him dead in his bed. The “jolly good fellow” has taken his life with an antiepileptic drug that Fanny had stolen from the family-run mercy farm for his old pug. In order to maintain the the family’s spotless image by covering up the patriarch’s suicide, the clan is now forced to stage an absurd charade in front of the guests. Despite all their efforts, the bomb – shell drops, but there’s no time to cry – as it now turns out that someone has stolen grandpa’s last will. A bitter inheritance dispute breaks out and old power dynamics are turned upside down, forcing the entire kin into a family constellation with a shaman healer… KALTER HUND is a black comedy about family secrets, that can leave their invisible marks for generations.
